Rachel Case - Counselor

Rachel is a certified school counselor coming from Mary Louise Phillips Elementary.  She has worked for Fort Worth ISD with ML Phillips for twenty-one years.  She earned her BSE in Education from Baylor University in 1999, her first M.Ed., Master in Education from Texas Wesleyan University in 2004, and a second MSSC, Master in School Counseling in 2008. 

Rachel lives with her husband, two kids, two dogs and her hedgehog.  She loves spending time with her family either exploring new places or just relaxing at home.  She enjoys reading, snuggling with her dogs, and playing with her hedgehog.

Elizabeth Hernandez - Family Engagement Specialist

Ms. Elizabeth Hernandez is our Family Engagement Specialist. Her favorite color is purple. Her birthday is December 29 and she loves using her cricut machine.

In her spare time, you may catch Elizabeth enjoying the beach, which she loves.

Amelia Blanchette - Art Teacher

Amelia Blanchette grew up in Lubbock, Texas and graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Texas State University in 2001 and a Master of Art Education degree from Texas Tech University in 2005. She began her teaching career in Levelland, Texas and taught for two years before moving to the Ft. Worth area.

 In 2005, she started working for Ft. Worth ISD.  This year Amelia will be teaching art to the amazing students at Jo Kelly.

She lives in the Burleson area with her horse, Buzz, and three dogs (Jack, Pearl, and Wee).  Amelia enjoys horseback riding, cooking, painting, photography, and spending time with my family and friends.

Rebecca May - Campus Monitor

 

Rebecca was born in Bakersfield, California. She moved to Texas when she was 10 and went to Aledo ISD. She moved to various places over the years, but came back to Texas to be with her mom.

Rebecca has worked a wide range of jobs and likes being the Campus Monitor at Jo Kelly the best.

She has a little black and white toy poodle named Maggie. "She is my baby girl."

Rebecca enjoys being outdoors and camping, hunting and fishing. Her favorite place to go is the Three Rivers. Texas

Martha Johnson - Homebound Teacher

Teacher of the Year 2020-2021

Martha has been with FWISD for 15 years. She has been a teacher at Jo Kelly since 2010.  Previously she worked as a business manager in Cooperate America for 16 years. From there, she joined the school district.

"I love working with people who have multiple disabilities, having a 35-year-old son with special needs keeps this population close to my heart. I feel that I have been given a special gift from God to work with my students at Jo Kelly School."

Kalee Iles Adapted P.E. Teacher

Kalee grew up in Fort Worth, Texas. She graduated with her Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training from Midwestern State University. She is working on her Masters of Kinesiology in Adapted Physical Education from Texas Women’s University.

She began her career with Fort Worth ISD in 2017 as a Program Assistant. From 2018-2022 she was a Self-Contained Elementary Teacher in Fort Worth ISD.

The 2022-2023 school year is her first year as an Adapted PE Teacher and she is so excited to be here at Jo Kelly School! She currently resides in Brock, Texas with her husband Hunter and our many animals!

Emely Juarez -Floating Teacher Assistant

Emely comes to Jo Kelly School from FWISD! She graduated from Trimble Technical high school and that is when her passion in education started. 

She has been working with kids for 4 years now and she is looking forward to getting her Associates in Early Education. Emely wants to continue her education through the masters level

Mary Ivey- Vision Teacher

Mary joined the Jo Kelly team in 2015. Mary is a Teacher of Students with Visual Impairments. She is certified to provide individualized instructional services for students with visual impairments. Mary serves a variety of schools around the district. Prior to working in Fort Worth ISD she was a CTVI for JCSSA and Everman ISD for 3 years. Mary has been a special education for 19 years. Before she entered education, she worked as a Respiratory Therapist.

Kristin King - Vision Teacher

Kristen joined the Jo Kelly team in 2021-2022. She has a Master's in Special Education from Texas Tech and a Teacher of Students with Visual Impairments. Kristen received her Bachelor's of Interdisciplinary Studies  from LeTourneau University and Certified Teacher grades 4th-8.
 
Kristen serves a variety of schools within the district. This is her 22nd year in education and has worked  in FWISD  for 10 years, Birdville ISD (8 years) and Alvarado ISD (4 years).
 
Before teaching, Kristen served in the Marine Corps from 1988-1994.

Tammy Baca - Transition Specialist

Tammy is Jo Kelly's Transition Specialist. She performs a variety of duties in providing appropriate services to special education students preparing for life after graduation.This is Tammy's 26th year as an educator working with students in Special Education and their families.  She lives in Fort Worth with her dog Benny, and a cat named Bella.  She is a member of the IDD Counsel and various other community organizations.  In her free time, she enjoys traveling, spending time with family, entertainng and cooking.

I have been a Certified Orientation & Mobility Specialist for 6 years, and a Special Education Teacher for 14 years.  I enjoy working with children and families to support them and help their children achieve all their goals.
